Isn't it the most amazing nursery for rare plants?! I bought an Anemonopsis there last year. Love the succulents growing on the roof of that little shed too. It's a great place for me to browse because there's so much there my husband doesn't get bored. I get to stay longer. Grin.

Bean, be SURE to wander through the demo garden(s) off to the right of the nursery areas! There were lots of great plants in bloom yesterday!

the garden conservancy open gardens tuor will be right in that area this sat 6/18.
i'm told they have every coleus under the sun at FD.

They do have a huge selection of coleus, and they are very nice plants. Great selection of herbs as well. Nice conifers and perennials of all kinds too, including many cacti and succulents. I like that they have all the shade lovers together. The demo gardens are really gorgeous right now too.

Thank you for the tip, Bill. I went today, and only had time to go thru the greenhouses. I'll save the demo gardens for another day. But I did pick up 3 pints of fresh native strawberries, as well as some chard, zinnias and a variety of coreopsis I've never seen.

That place is beautiful. I'm sure I could spend hours there! Just didn't have that many minutes today!

One thing I really appreciated was the bricked paths. I've been suffering from some back pain lately, and it was delightful to be able to pull a cart full of plants so effortlessly.
