I've been going to Logee's for years. They have a wonderful selection of plants, some things that you probably won't find anywhere else, but they're not so big on pottery choices. But if you do go to Logee's you could hop over to Harts Nursery. That might be worth a trip too. I've been to the one in Brooklyn (CT) but there's also one in Norwich and Canterbury. They have more to choose from as well as a nice selection of plants.

Richie, if you recall, the NE folks made a day trip there a few years back. I went, and quite honestly, wasn't expecting anything great because I really don't like tropicals and houseplants and exotics, etc. Well, I had such a great time and I loved the tour we got! It was a pretty amazing place to visit. Granted, we did have a tour, and it was the middle of winter, so it was a nice break, but I was really pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the visit.

I don't know about what else is up that way... unless you want to visit my in-laws, lol...
