Z4, what annuals just take to long when WS?

I'm on the 5/4 border, and people are saying this summer is late. Coming from a much warmer climate, I certainly love gardening up here where the heat doesn't just kill you. But, I'm finding that sometimes it seems to take soooooo lonnnnnggggg for some WS annuals to ever begin blooming! My Kiss Me Over The Garden Gate, first year I've grown it, is still very small. I can't imagine it blooming anytime soon. Many of my Rudbeckia hirta's survived the winter, and they look great, but the Rud seedlings I planted this year are so small, as well.

If you're in a cold Z5 or a Z4, what plants grown as annuals have you found just take too long in our colder climates to be worthwhile?

I know annual asters won't bloom till fall, as they are programmed to be like that. It's the "normal" annuals that I wish would hurry up!
