Roses and rhododendrons and fertilizer?

I've been busily moving volunteer winterberries that would have soon overwhelmed a nice pine, and I want to move something more restrained into their place. There's an azalea and a rhododendron there now close to the empty space.

My preferred choices at this time are a Blanc Double de Coubert rugosa rose that's in too much shade right now, or a Blue Maid holly that's getting crowded where it is.

The rose would love it there and it would look great but I'm worried about the fertilizer. I fertilize roses heavily but not the azaleas and rhodies. They just get compost in the fall.

My question is, will the rose's fertilizer be detrimental to the rhodie and azalea if they're close by? If so, I might be able to do some more revolving chair moves but the options are limited.
