The first one looks like my stephanandra incisa "crispa" -- a low shrub. I know I brought some to the swap. It will sprawl, makes a lovey low mound but the "mama" plant is about 4 feet across by 1.5-2 feet high right now (so give it some width to grow in). It will root wherever a branch contacts the ground so you will get many babies to share... or a lovely large fill on a slope, or anywhere you could use erosion control (for instance). It's a wonderful shrub.
