6/10 Please Tell Us About Great Gardens When You Tour Them!

From a quick scan of the threads, it's clear that now is the time for a lot of garden tours!And we all know all too well how hard it can be to choose which ones to do. As a community of gardeners, we could be so helpful to each other by posting about our favs. Just a few lines about why it was so special to you, and the name of the garden as it appeared on the tour, i.e. "Grey Gulls" or 'The Smith Miller Garden". You may not even remember the name of some, but you could say, "the Hingham garden with the red barn" and we could contact the local Garden Club to get more info. Many gardens appear on more than one garden tour, the same year or other years, and we can note to look for those in the future.You don't even have to start a new thread; you can just add to this one!

This Saturday 7/10 is one of the open houses at Bedrock Gardens/Fine Garden Art in Lee NH. Jill Nooney is an artist, mostly a metal sculptor, who has created absolutely amazing pieces and sited examples in a fantastic, enormous garden. The open houses happen several times a summer and have free admission. Pieces are available for sale but there's absolutely no pressure, and even if you're not in the market for a piece of art it's well worth the drive just to see the gardens. Bring a camera

summer, we hear it all the time from visitors, "We've been meaning/wanting to come here for years...."
That's kind of my story w/ Jill's place. To be honest, I never cared for her sculptures so I didn't think her gardens would be much. I was nudged by a few respected garden design friends who recently recommended it but it took your linking the website - to convince me. Some pretty cooool landscapes,and great vignettes. So thanks to you ,I'll be going soon. Cannot do it in this heat, but certainly right after it breaks....(yes?)
thanks so much for that post, summer; i never would have been convinced w/o it.Something to really look forward to.
