Barberries in CT: List of Those Being Phased Out and Those 'Safe'

berberis Hellmond Pillar is an essential throughout the retum here. I need some new ones to replace a few that croaked, so i was looking for a source, as they cannot be sold in MA or NH at all. Well, CT has had the smarts to make 2 lists of them- one safe and one not safe. see below.

Ah, I just looked hoping against hope that my berberis was considered safe somewhere. Unfortunately, CT doesn't like it either. It's the Gold Ring barberry.

I wasn't aware that there were "good" and "bad" barberries. I thought they were all bad. This is good to know. Thanks, Mindy!

well, unfortunately, from my limited search so far, the CT nurseries have neglected this good and bad list and decided to not carry ALL barberries (oliver's sells 2 safe ones, and they explain it all, but they're just green ones. phooey.) We're coming down next week near new haven/mystic for my bday- if anyone knows any nurseries that sell helmond pillar.thnx much.
