What are you using for fertilizer? I use fish emulsion on a lot of garden plants but mostly veggies. A friend had to quit using it because it attracted bears. Yesterday someone said they had to put cages around some plants because a critter was eating them. Of course, a raccoon could remove the cage IF it's a raccoon.

Maybe mothballs around the edge of the pot will help. Hope someone else has some good advice.

Can you bring it in at night and set it out each morning?

We used mothballs to deter the chipmunks from eating our cherry tomatoes on the patio last summer (had to put them in plastic cups so they wouldn't leach into the soil but unless you're planning to cook with the lavender, leaching wouldn't matter). They worked.

I've never heard of a raccoon eating lavender plants, though... I'd think rabbits were more likely?

Didn't you mention in a previous thread that this is a potted plant? I doubt it would be a raccoon. A raccoon would end up knocking the whole plant over. More likely chipmunks. There is no foolproof way. Just try things like mothballs, cayenne pepper. Bloodmeal.

what is bloodmeal? It could be a skunk too. I doubt its a cat, because there is a small hole in the fence leading out to some woods that my Lavender plant/pot is sitting against. There is some digging as to whatever made it thru the hole knew it was going after something
