"Dry conditions: Much needed rain has occurred on several occasions over the past 2 weeks across the state with varying amounts falling given the geographic locations. This has helped significantly to ease the effects of drought. However, in some areas, trees on drier sites are already showing scorch and in some cases, entire foliage going straight to brown ahead of normal fall color change. Our moderate drought this summer may be over but the effects will linger in the form of stressed trees with lower resources going into the winter months. " Claire |
