Many gardeners now consider more carefully whether they will plant lilies. I planted Black Beauty which is resistant, and it has looked great this year. I wish I could find the thread that we had going here discussing this last year.

I think that Oriental lilies that bloom later are a better bet in general, judging solely by this year's results.

I'm already seeing leaf damage from the beetles although I have sprayed the plants with NEEM. A new finding is a dark brown, tar like substance on the underside of the leaves. Is this also a product of the beetles?
