1.) Are you looking to get significant fruit production, or just think it's fun to have a couple fruit as a novelty? Many of the most productive commercial varieties of fruit are subject to disease and a lot of work. There are also a few tougher version.

2.) How much space? What kind of soil? (Clay, sand, acidic?) Is it near the house or subject to road salt? I'm a fan of white pine (pinus strobus) but you need a lot of space.

1. I understand fruit trees will take some work. I also understand "significant" and couple of fruit trees is a relative term. Reason for dwarf tree versions was so I could have better access to maintaining the trees.
2. Soil is definitely acidic, since the area is basically surrounded by conifers and blackberries love sprouting up and calling for my weedwhacker. That area is away from the road and is basically at the side of the property that has about an acre of woods my neighbors own.
