I love that bellfower blue - such a lovely shade. I also like the structure of C. persicifolia, but I've heard it is a problem self-seeder. Do you find that is the case for you (or are you better at deadheading than I am?)

I poked around on line and read that C. persicifolia 'Takion Blue' blooms from to September. If I recall correctly other C. persicifolia just have that 3 wk bloom period in June. Although tiny this one sounds like a real winner.

It's not a problem here on the cape, so it probably wouldn't be one in zone 5, nhbabs. I've given away a couple of dozen seedlings, but that's over a 20 year span.

I also love that blue - and notice my balloon flowers are also in full swing again now. They have the best blue, but are not very graceful plants, IMHO. The C. persicifolia is nicer in that regard than the Platycodon.

Since I've only had it for half of a summer, I have no idea about seedlings. But...I'd welcome as many as it puts out! I wonder if there is enough time before our next frost for these blooms to go to seed. I should really try to harvest some to sow.

Is the C. persicifolia 'Takion Blue' a specific color or a hybrid? How does it differ from the standard C. persicifolia bellflower plant with violet blue blooms?
