When the plant a potted & newly rooted plant?

Hi All, so I finally had success with Russian sage suckers, the key was to pot the suckers keep them indoors for two weeks well watered and then move them out int the garden in pots.
So now I have two small Russian sage plants grown from suckers, one Russian sage plant grown from cutting (just stuck a cutting in a pot, left it under a giant oak tree, only rain water), and a viburnum rooted from cutting (same pot as the Russian sage cutting), I can not believe the cuttings root so easy with no care.
Now the question is, should I:
1) pot the rooted plants in the garden now?
2) pot them a bit later when it's cooler, in the "fall", if yes, when exactly?
Or, 3) bring pots indoors or leave them out for winter and plant in spring?
Which option would be best for zone 5b, in MA?
Thanks!
