Corliss Brothers in Ipswich MA has a pretty good selection of bulbs that you can still buy out of the box.

Personally, I bought one or 2 each of about 8 daffodil varieties @ $0.89 ea which is less than you might pay by mail order.

I figure I'll really find out what I like once it flowers.

They have a good selection of fall bulbs in general.

BTW 6 varieties of Colchicum purchased this season (by mail) have just finished a fine 2 to 3 week show. These you have to get by mail. I find that they persist and generally thrive in the garden, though, they do tend to look alike.

One was more rosy red and another had more chalice like flowers with definitely purplish flower stems. These 2 were real winners.
