Tower Hill Botanic Garden

I don't know if anyone else made it to the sale at Tower Hill today. Admission to the garden was free today because of the sale. So I took advantage of this to take some photos.

I had not toured the gardens before. It is a very large place and you can't see it all without a very long walk. There are many different gardens (i.e. a Lawn Garden, Cottage Garden, Systematic Garden, Winter Garden, Vegetable Garden and more) and there is a huge naturalistic area that consists of woodlands, meadows, ponds and wildlife areas. I wasn't able to see it all in the time I had. But it's definitely worth the time for a day visit.

Great slide show Steve. Thanks for sharing. I haven't been there in awhile. May be time for another visit.

Did you buy anything at the sale?

I bought two ornamental grass plants, including Misicanthus Sinensis 'Morning Mist', and four Hostas. I'm in the middle of expanding my white garden, so I've got lots of places to put things.

Your cell phone is to be complimented, Steve, it even managed to capture a rainbow!

I still haven't gotten to Tower Hill yet; I think I need to move it much higher up the list of places to go.

Steve, Great photos and I'm so glad you had some of the statues (in the woods, right?) It was one area we couldn't make it to.

I visited for the first time this year and it has moved very high up on the list for gardens to go back to. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Steve, I hope you don't mind I'm adding my album to this thread too. Our pictures are different and I think between the two of us everyone can get a good feel for the place. I especially love they way they spray painted the dried allium heads as some garden art.

Not to hijack this thread, but those alliums look really cool. I think I may try to save some of mine next summer, and spray paint them silver or red. If they last, they could be really cool additions to my winter greens planters next to the front door.

Those alliums are pretty cool. The Garden changes so much in each season. Thyme's photos are different from mine. I couldn't get a good picture of the turtles or the pergolas. Have to bring my good camera next time. I love the "Allee" with the Oak Leaf Hydrangea's in full bloom. Thanks for the additional photos.
