too late to plant?

Hi - is it too late to put things that are in pots into the ground? I've got a fairly small hibiscus that is in a terra cotta pot that I somehow forgot all about that I'd like to get into the ground... I've also got a caryopteris; but that is just in a nursery pot and could be heeled in somewhere if its better.

Any advice?

No, it's not too late to plant, especially if you mulch so that the roots are warmer and to decrease the likelihood of frost heaving.

what babs said.we plant perennials through oct and trees into dec.
