Consumer Reports didn't like the Neuton and I think they said it wasn't powerful enough. I remember reading that earlier this year.

We got the newest B&D, and it was really good. I'll report back in the spring, winter survival of the battery is probably the big question.

Our lawn's fairly small, because we're on 1/3 acre and the house is a sprawled cape. We left the mower plugged in all summer, so it was always ready when we wanted to mow. Never had a problem with it. I used it on leaves last weekend, and it worked well. THe shute into the bag is a bit narrow, so it got clogged a few times (big, wet Maple leaves) but it was easy to clear it, and the mower did as well as our old gas monster, but without all the noise and the aggravation of the balky starter on the gas model.

I know you already want a Neuton, but reporting that my Neuton CE6 did great this year.

The original battery last year was a real dud, but this years warranty replacement battery was great. Never left the green zone (of green, yellow or red) -- even the last mowing where I mowed real short and some leaves were mixed in. I emptied the bag about 20 times (lost count), and still could have mowed plenty more. That much mowing only took about 25% of the power.

I tried to mow on the very shortest setting and I couldn't. The engine was struggling. But the next-to-the-shortest setting is still pretty short. Throughout the season I was mowing on the tallest setting (better for the grass).

I have 1.3 acres but after the woods and the house and the gardens, I am guessing I may have 1/2 acre of actual lawn.
