Same for me only mine is white. The funny thing is that I didn't plant my annual alyssum this season but two years ago! So i'm guessing the seed from a plant just germinated.

I think we are experiencing temperature fluctuations without any long cold spells. Maybe they think it's March?

I planted white alyssum many years ago in abundance. It was a slightly taller version than is usually sold. I have had it ever since. Not so with purple which I have to replant. They are incredibly cold hardy.

I've had volunteering white sweet alyssum for years, too, and mine also looks especially good right now. Sort of like little drifts of snow along a path, but much more welcome in my garden!
