What happens if ant poison gets on edible plants?

I just realized that the patio garden is already up and going, but the apartment complex will definitely spray for ants at some point. This would happen right around the edge of my patio, where many of my pots sit. I'm afraid that some of the poison may hit my my vegetable plants.

Is this something I should be concerned about? I do not know what they use, but it is probably nothing organic... The ants here can get bad, so I'm quite sure they only deal with heavy weapons.

Will this affect my plants in any way? If the poison hits the soil or the foliage of my plants, will my fruit be affected? Would the fruit be safe to eat?
