Whats the damage done by mold?

Posted by antb (My Page) on

I recently had to move my tomatoe seedlings away from the the flourescant lighting to make room to grow peper seedlings. I moved them to a window that gets sun for only about 5 hours a day but is in a warm room. They seemed to florish the first few days but now they have white/grey silky (Hair-like?) mold on the top of the soil. Im sure it is lack of heat and evaporation and I've also brought in a fan to circulate air better. My question is is what kind of damage does this do, how do i fix it, and will drying out the soil ammend the problem?
