Hey everyone,

I'm new to the site and a beginner gardener. I just had a quick question about a garden I am turning from flowers to vegetables.

The garden hasn't been touched in years, so as I am cultivating it, i.e. mixing the soil, taking out plants, etc., I am finding that there are a ton of roots and old plants and that invariably I am not going to get them all out.

My question is how much should I worry? Should I just mix the soil and get out as much as I can? Will the old stuff just die and rot? Or will it grow back if I don't get it all out?

Just curious to know if there is anything I should do to make the transition seamless.
