Bagged leaves

Greetings,
I have been offered about a dozen bags of leaves that I thought would be good mixed with manure and soil but on opening a couple of them I found ants and lots of tiny (1/4 inch) never seen before, black worm like insects. I have no idea what they are or if they are harmless to my garden. The bagged leaves are from the NW Austin area. When I opened the bags they got busy moving, maybe they are larva I don't know but do I want the bags of leaves?
I should have taken pictures I know :-(

The leaves are fine. Mix them with green stuff like grass clippings. The heat will make the critters scatter. They are decomposers and naturally live in leaf litter.

Thank you Susanzone5 I hope that isn't scatter as in scatter and go eat my plants lol. I have mixed some of the bags with manure and will compost them for a while. Thank you for your help.
