There is a very big interest in cold hardy palms. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a nursery near you that carried a selection.

One of my co-workers lives northwest of McLean, VA and has several palms in his backyard. If they can grow around here, I'm sure you can have some. Have in mind your coldest temperatures - not the average cold - but the real reading. An average of 25º is okay, but all it takes is one night down to zero to kill a plant. Choose not only the hardier of the available palms, but be prepared to do some winter protection on occasion.
