Forest Pansy Redbud

Hi Everybody.

I'm new to this forum and I really know nothing about gardening, but I want to make our yard look nice. I was thinking about planting a Forest Pansy Redbud in our front yard next to our driveway where it will receive full sun. However, after reading several posts about the problems people have had with this tree, I'm not sure if it's the right tree for me. The Forest Pansy is so pretty, and I love the idea of having a tree with dark leaves, so I really do want it. I am in zone 5-6, and my soil has a lot of clay in it. I would love to hear from people who have had experience with this tree, and if anyone has other recommendations for a different tree, I would be open to those ideas as well.

Thank you.--Jennifer

Jennifer, I would like to suggest you make this same post on the Tree Forum. You'll likely get a lot more responses from people who've had experience with the Forest Pansy.
