Has anyone seen or heard of the new Summers Red Maple tree? Its foliage is red all thru the summer and fall. I'm in Utah and I'd like to get one or two, but am having a hard time finding information on them.

I know absolutely nothing about this company -- but isn't the picture gorgeous! I notice the tree they sell is 14-24".

Here is a link that might be useful: summers red maple

RE: summers red maple

I wish they disclosed the parentage and more info on it's habits.

I have an autumn blaze maple that is a silver maple and red maple cross and looks just like this summers red maple except that it is only red in the fall.

I had a silver maple at a previous property and NEVER AGAIN!!! Worst, messiest tree evah!

The autumn blaze though is perfectly well mannered showing none of the undesirable traits of the silver, but all of it's desirable traits. Healthy, does well in clay soil, grows quickly, laughs off pests. A real winner.

Because I can't find any info on the parentage of this summers red maple or any information on it's habits I wouldn't put it in my yard. Too much risk of it behaving like a silver maple.
