Raised beds

Hi, we recently did some landscaping in our front yard, and planted some korean boxwoods, barberrys and coreopsis. But the bed is too low and we would like to raise the height. Is it advisable to raise the beds now? will that ruin the plants? What's the safest way to approach this?

To raise a bed more then 2 or possibly 3 inches with plants already growing in it, you will have to dig out the plants and replant.
