I am looking for a shrub that flowers late may early June. It produces a flower that is burgandy in color. The flowers smell very poignant and the flower is the size of a chestnut or strawberry

It would help to know where you saw these. What flowers in Mississippi in June is not the same as what flowers in northern Minnesota.
