 o
name of plant

Hi,
I found a flowering bush/tree that I remember from my grandmother's house when I was a child. I'd love to know the name of the plant so I can purchase one. I'm not sure how much you can see in the pic, but the tree is a thin plant that grows quite tall; I believe the picture of the flower is clear.

Thanks so much for your help.

Hmmm... how do I post the pics?

Rose of Sharon, yes, but the correct botanical name for the plant is Hibiscus syriacus. FWIW, depending on location, "rose of sharon" is common name applied to other plants as well, most notably St. John's Wort or any member of the genus Hypericum.

Kittybork, how far from the Arkansas state line are you? If you're close enough, there's going to be an in-person plant swap August 22 in Magnolia, Ar. There's more information about it on the Southern Forum or the Get Together Forum.
