stagger biennial sweet william (Dianthus barbatus) planting?

A couple years ago I threw a bunch of wildflower seed mix into a scrubby area of our property. I was unimpressed with the results - until this year! Now we have several different things going. One of the best ones is sweet william (Dianthus barbatus). I love the big clusters that come in a variety of colors and patterns.

So due to the pattern, these are pretty obviously the biennial variety. What I'm wondering is if I can seed more of them in the same spot next year in order to "stagger" the blooms and have a crop of blooming plants every year. It seems like a good idea, but I'm wondering if the plants would just wind up synchronizing somehow so they all bloom and seed at the same time. Mother nature is mighty craft, after all.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
