SunPatiens Compact Series

I planted some SunPatiens in the ground and even though it says it can get 6 plus hours of sun they look wilted during the heat of day so I water them. Now they are getting yellow leaves at the base of the stems. My soil is clay mixed with a good garden soil. Am I watering too much or too little?

Only you can answer that question, Peggy. You'll need to physically feel the soil before and after a good watering. As a general rule, however, New Guinea impatiens thrive with infrequent watering once they are well established. When watering is needed, it should be done deeply and thoroughly.
