Can anyone tell me anything about this plant. I remember planting it a couple of years ago and just forgot about it - well, it came up this year!!! My daughter also has one, and she gave me some seeds to plant. Where to plant, what kind of soil, light, etc. is needed. Anything about this plant will help. Thanks

They grow easily from seeds. Prefer partial sun & medium moisture. I just scatter the seeds. They will grow amd bloom the following year. Funny and interesting, aren't they? :-) |

Will they self seed the next year? Or do you need to plant more seeds? I planted a few from seed this spring and haven't seen too much action yet. I do remember my grandmother had gobs of them in her garden, but she's not around to give advice anymore.....

Around here they reseed easily. Too easily, in fact. They are a pretty common weed in the roadsides in our area.

If you would like more seeds, please email me your address. I'll send you some. They are ready now, but I have not collected them. I think they'll germinate in spring if scattered now or sometime this year.

Lunaria is a biennial here. The first year we get small plants which grow big the next year and bloom. They grow at the edge of the woods, against the house and along the garden fence, in half-day sun. They seem to prefer soft soil here. Drought doesn't phase them at all. They reseed in all conditions here, but I spread the seed pods around near the woods anyway, just in case. (I like spreading seeds. lol)
