Winter protection for a variety of plants

Supplies tend to run out early here and re-ordering is a foreign concept, so I went to get a jump-start on getting protection products.

We bought a new house and planted a variety of things this year. All were in the ground by July. I've looked around at a lot of different places and am finding conflicting information, so I would appreciate any basic advice you could give me on what's needed, if anything, to protect the following plants:

Forsythia
Weigala
Erica--"Springwood Pink"
Thuya Occidental Pour Haie "White Hedging Cedar"
Juniper--"Youngstown"
Juniper--"Blue Rug"
Juniper--"Mint Julep"
Crimson King Maple

My guess is that everything needs to be heavily mulched and burlapped for this first year.

I would appreciate any help you could give me, as I am as clueless as my username suggests.

Make sure all are well hydrated going into the fall and that's all.
I hope you have mulched the soil around the new plants when you put them in....but really you need to do nothing.

Thanks! I mulched everything really well when we planted.
