serissa bonsai

My ten year old daugter had a serissa bonsai for her birthday in July. It has been fine up until now but has recently started to drop alot of its leaves. On close inspection it does look as if new ones are growing. We water it about every three to four days but are not misting the leaves. We feed it every two weeks. It is kept in a windowsill and is not near a radiator. It was a present from her best friend so we would appreciate any advice.

Hope someone can help.

Jan

RE: serissa bonsai

Serissa is often a topic on the bonsai forum (fondly known as Old Stinky...) and they'd probably welcome in a newbie with great glee.

It is known to drop leaves, particularly as seasons change and light levels. Sort of like changing coats.

It may also need feeding and the bonsai folk can advise you on what would be best for your climate/growing situation.
