You are in Georgia? Could the heat be affecting them? Are they getting proper water (enough at one time to get your finger damp when poked about 2" into the soil). "Spots" sounds like maybe one of the mildews... hard to say, it would be better if a picture could be posted. Lacy holes does sound like something nibbling. Take a magnifying glass and put a cushion beside a plant with fresh nibbles. Sit, and use the glass to carefully inspect the leaves [top and bottom] and stems. You may find tiny worms [larvae] or bugs chewing, carefully note all identifying characteristics: color, size, # of legs, etc. then maybe we can figure who's eating.

You can try a mild 'home remedy' that might help, and won't hurt the plants you named. Smash a large clove of garlic and let it sit in a cup of water overnight. Then pour off the garlicky water into a 1 quart sprayer (like a Windex bottle). Add 1 teaspoon baking soda (not washing soda) and 1/4 cup sudsy ammonia and fill up with water. Spray the plants, being sure to get the bottomside of the leaves. Although the quantities vary according to who is giving the recipe, this spray has been in use for years (50 years ago, I learned it from an 80-year old). Studies are showing validity for the ingredients, with garlic apparently suppressing development of some bugs; and baking soda deterring the formation of black spot and some mildews. Frankly, I suspect the ammonia is mostly because the plants like it for the nitrogen, although it does kills slugs.
