peace lilly in ground

I was told by a landscaper to not plant a peace lilly in the ground because they don't do well. However, about 15 minutes from my house a saw a home with healthy looking peace lillies in front, and last week at Cypress Gardens I again saw wonderful, thriving ground-planted Peace Lillies. Did this landscaper not know what he was talking about? How do you keep them healthy outdoors?

Keep them watered well and in not too much sun...but when the temperature dips to 40 at night they won't be very happy.
