Figuring out what's outside

Teaa

I live in SE PA and this spring my landlord planted some new plants in the yard. I actually got the gardening bug and started taking care of them, weeding and watering regularly. They seem to be growing ok, but as we approach colder weather I am unsure of what to do with these plants. I saved the plant stakes from the retail pots.

One of them is called "Sedge" and is labeled "Colorful grasses".

The other is "Hosta Albo Marginata" and says Perennial.

Do I need to clip these for the winter or remove them altogether? How do I clip them?

Thanks
