Pearl Onions

| Early this summer, we planted onion sets as we have the past few years and they were just delicious. BUT, now at this time of year, we cannot find any. SO, on a recent shopping trip, I spotted some pearl onions and bought them. Has anyone ever tried planting them to get green onions? |

Do you mean those ment for cooking? Like small onions? Likely they have been treated with a growth retardant to keep them from sprouting.
Try planting onion seeds next spring...they should be producing nice scallions about now.
