New to Gardening

English Box & Roses

Hi, I am very new to gardening. I have just planted 10 standard roses in my front yard (5 down each side of my front path 1 meter apart). I would also like to plant some english box to make a path border between each of the roses. Will the box affect the health of the roses. I made sure that I used rose planting mix and a good rose food.Hopw someone can help

Shouldn't hurt them at all....as long as you provide enough water and rose food.

The nearby botanical garden has this arrangement. I notice they leave a good 60cm between the box edging and the first rose bushes. Probably necessary for getting in to prune, weed and spray.

the combination of roses and box can enhance a garden path, one does need to keep the box no higher than 18inches, and yes give it TLC tender loving care.
