odd growth habit?

Hello.

Arizona Ash - 15 gallon planted in May. Supposed to be good for this area. Branches are not growing leaves except for at the end of the branch. If leaves are lower on the branch, they seem to be dying for the most part. So new growth at end of branch looks good, but plant looks odd since the leaves are only at end of branch. Is this normal?

Looks like nobody on this forum has an answer for you, Vicky. Have you tried the Arizona Gardening Forum or the Tree Forum? You might get some help from the good folks on these forums.
