Hello

We have had this plant for a while now. I can't remember what it's called. I do know that it is low maintenance and will grow towards the sun light. As you can see it's very one sided at the moment. Can I trim this plant? I'd like it to take up less space. How can I keep it from growing so wild

Also I found these tiny white bugs crawling around the base of the plant. Very tiny looked like a grain of sand. Any idea of what they are? Maybe I can get a picture of them..
