The trunk of one of my crape myrtle trees planted in 2003 didn't have any leaves or blossoms this year and the trunk itself was deformed with small lumps. What could cause this? I removed the diseased trunk and am hoping the tree will continue to grow.

RE: crape myrtle

I don't think we have enough information to help out, angus. Hopefully, your tree will resprout from the roots in the spring.
