Can Musella Lasiocarpa be dug up and Winterized?

I am not new to gardening in general but I am to the care of the banana genus Musella. I have had a Musella Lasiocarpa in a very large terra cotta pot for the last two years. The winters I left it in the pot, dry, on my front porch as a quick winter solution. Surprisingly it survived! Now I am digging up all of my other bananas and tropical's for winter and thought it time to take this up for proper winter storage too. Problem is I can't find any forum for the proper care for this genus. It has grown an aggressive root system and is what I call root bound. There is not much soil left to knock gently off of it even. What to do? Can you store under house in same manner as the Musa's or do you keep it in a container over winter?
