Unplanted Tulip Expirations?

Posted by morgandy 5 (My Page) on

Hi, I'm an advanced gardener actually, but nowhere else to post this that I could find. I've just planted 4000 tulips on new property, and now want to take advantage of huge sales. Will tulips/daffs carry over for planting until next fall if kept dry, dark and cool? Any idea how many years they actually may last if not planted for a while? Thanks greatly for any info.

They will shrivel if not planted.
They need to grow leaves soon in order to recharge the bulbs.

Thanks much....I thought I'd seen an expiration date on a pack once so wasn't sure.
