Transplanting Crocus and other bulbs

Hi,

I was planning to move my crocus bulbs to another part of the garden sometime this season. When is the best time to do this? This is their first year, they look very happy but it's too soon to call them established.

If I wait until the foliage dies (which I suspect is the best time) how will I find those tiny little bulbs? Is it ok to move them before the foliage dies or will that kill them?

What about tulips and other bulbs?

Christine

I've moved daffs in flower with no problem - as long as you do it quickly it should not matter. They are very hardy souls.

Last year I transplanted some crocus after they were done blooming, but before the leaves disappeared. They came back just fine.
