Thanks for the info though I didn't have time for the side trip. Did go on Sunday. Not as good as last year but still a nice day.

Waste of money. The landscape displays were iffy and most of the trees were dead or dead looking. Do not recommend going on the last day for future use...

Re: Koniferkid's comments -- I went on opening day and found that, even then, some of the plants were past their prime. But given the fact that I cannot yet get a shovel into the ground at my house, the Flower Show was a wonderful breath of spring air. I was not enamored with the Americana theme, but there were some vibrant uses of color and color combinations in the floral displays that made me re-think my garden plans. Plus, the garden design lecture by P. Allen Smith was great as was the discussion on pruning and fabricating your own containers for container gardens. Perhaps it was not the best Flower Show that I have been to in terms of floral displays, but it was worth every penny in inspiration and knowledge.

I find that just walking around and seeing plants is what I go to the show for.

The displays themselves nice, but dont have much relation to my garden. There is some of "I have that" or "I'd like to plant that" but I dont spend a lot of time there.

What I really like are the plant competitions. These are mostly indoor plants, but they are great. Wandering around the booths and buying stuff is also fun.

I love going to the show just to see plants in bloom or green and to get into the swing of spring.
