New ground covers & hardiness questions

Yesterday I found two new groundcovers that allegedly tolerate heavy foot traffic: Muehlenbeckia axillaris and Herniaria glabra, creeping wire vine and rupturewort, respectively.

The tag on the M. axillaris lists Zones 6-9; that on the H. glabra 5-9.

An internet seach on each gives a wide, wide range of conflicting hardiness zone information, many saying they are not hardy below Zone 7 and others saying even the M. axillaris can go to Zone 5, especially if there is winter snow cover.

If they are hardy and tolerate heavy traffic, it seems they should be fantastic plants.

So----has anyone ever grown, especially in North Jersey, these plants or am I going to be the New Jersey Gardening guinea pig?
