I need a couple of suggestions of hummingbird attracting cannas for the new Rancocas Nature Center hummingbird garden. My neighbors have a tall unnamed type that's hell on hummers, but the one at RNC needs to have a name. It would also be helpful if it was one that's fairly easy to find - most visiters aren't, shall we say, as 'unbalanced' as those of us who post messages on gardenwebs, who will go to almost any length to acquire something new and exotic.

I highly Recommend Robert Kemp, Skyhawk,Omega,Coccinea or India Prince. All species type Cannas with spikey blooms.Hummers will nearly kill eachother over a large clump of Cannas.Enjoy the show. ~stephen

Thanks for the tips. I've noticed when my neighbors cannas are going full blast, it's hard to get the hummers interested in anything else, except possibly B&B Salvia.
