I am new to NJ and was wondering if anyone has had any luck with Crape Myrtle. The area I am looking to put it in gets full sun all day. Also, I was thinking of planting two colors together to make one tree. Any thoughts?

sfox, I'm in northern Jersey and last year my local nursery was carrying varieties that are hardy in this zone. I'm sure you'll find some locally that will grow in your area.

Hello sfox, there are a number of nurseries in our area - Franklinville and Clarksboro both have nurseries that carry the crapes but you won't see them until May/June - I ordered mine through a website from GA last year and they did great! They had an immense variety of colors as well. Happy Gardening!

I have about 25 varieties ranging in size from 8" to small trees. For best hardiness, fertilize only once (in spring) with 5-10-5.
