How to get rid of gravel and rocks

The previous owners of my house used gravel instead of mulch for all the beds and used softball sized rocks to line everything. Last year I pulled everything out so that I could start new in the spring. Removing the old bushes/plants proved to be easy, it's the remaining gravel and rocks that now poses the problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can go about getting rid of all the gravel/rocks?

If you think they are re-usable by someone else, perhaps post a message on CraigsList, a local newspaper, or maybe the bulletin board of a church or supermarket. I'm sure someone would be glad to take it all. People pay good money for stuff like that, so they would be glad to take it for free.

Using 2"x4"'s make a rectangle and wrap chicken wire across and staple in place. Use this as a screen to sift out the stones.
