Can't do that, because we don't know. That being said, I understand the question. After several years of rain, and averages being what they are, it wouldn't be at all surprising. It is very easy to picture on of those summers with little rain, the kind where the thunderstorms pass nearby in the evening, but never seem to reach us. Where the temperatures reach 90 in mid June and stay there until late August. Where I wonder if my well will hold out. Yes, that could be?

I asked this very question of John Marshall, a meteorolgist at WNBC, earlier this week. He says we're only slightly down in rainfall for the month of May - and of course today it is raining with more predicted over the next 10 days.

However, the next day Chris Cimino (or maybe it was Janice Huff) mentioned that we've not had much rain during May, in fact could be down a bit over 2".

I know that people in the garden center business are becoming concerned.
